Terms and Conditions

GENERAL SELF-DRIVE CAR HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

This agreement is constructed in accordance with Kenya laws that rented motor vehicle is in good conditions and shall be returned in the same conditions. Hirer who will be driving this vehicle must present an original valid driving license with current address in persons, at time of collection of the vehicle. 

 Requirements for self-drive car hire:          

Original valid driving license, [ stamped].                                       Original ID card.

KRA pin number.                                                                            Registered phone numbers 

Address of workplace.                                                                       Residential address.

Refundable deposits will be required                                                 Recent passport or we take one

A client must sign a contract agreement form, plus attach the above documents.

The hirer and/or authorized driver must have held a full and valid driving license for a minimum of 3 years up to and including the time of hire and that license must bear no current endorsements during the last two years. A driving license from the country of residence or an International Driver's Permit is generally acceptable, provided valid as above. Only the mentioned driver on the contract shall drive the vehicle. (attach details of others if any). All vehicles shall be picked and returned to our offices. In order to hire a vehicle, you must be between the ages of 23 and 70 years and full advance payments for the period of the hire will be required before collection of the vehicles.

The hirer shall bear the cost of any loss or damage that may arise during the period of use.           

The Eliners Tours & Car Hire has the right to know the whereabouts of the motor vehicle at any time. The hirer must abide by Kenyan traffic laws, any violation of the laws shall be penalized.

The hirer is not allowed to do any illegal business with above-mentioned motor vehicles, the hirer is not allowed to carry passengers or goods on board. the hirer further agreed that the vehicle shall be used for the stated purpose only, the vehicle shall be driven only on weather road.

The vehicle shall not be used for racing or over speeding.

Don't overspeed 80km or drink and drive either in the influence of drugs 

States borders 

NO crossing state borders without written authorization obtained from Eliners Tours & Car Hire. The vehicle shall not be any chance taken out of Kenya unless a special arrangement is made if not so hirer should be treated as a criminal (car theft) with maximum force.

Insurance

All our vehicles are P.S.V Comprehensively insured but in all cases, the hirer is responsible for repairs arising from damage to the vehicle during his/her period of hire. The Company shall not be liable for any CLAIM for damage or loss arising out of the use of the Motor Vehicle to the hirer or any other person whatsoever.

In cases of any accident involving the vehicle, the hirer shall report to us immediately and then to the police. no matter how minimal the accident is, provide a copy of the police abstract with the police officer's name who was at the scene, and the details of the police station.

In case of any careless driving causing accident, the hirer shall be responsible for medicating all injured if any and repairing the damage on the vehicle.

Deposit

This is a fully refundable deposit that covers any damage to the hired vehicle during the period of hire. The hirer will be refunded the full excess deposit in cash upon return of the vehicle in the same condition as collected at the commencement of the hire.

 In case of an accident, the hirer shall pay the full excess fee demanded by the insurance company for repairs or replacement of the vehicle. If the damage on the vehicle to be repaired may not involve an insurance company the hirer shall bear all costs of repairs at our appointed time and garage.

The hirer shall pay the full daily rate for the days the vehicle shall be in the garage. The hirer is not authorized to do any repair or repaint unless permitted by us,)if you repair or repaint without our permission. You are obligated to pay a penalty three times the damages on the vehicle.

Date of return:

The hirer shall return the Motor Vehicle on the due date and time as agreed at the time of hire. The company reserves the right to repossess the vehicle or report it stolen should it not be returned by the due date and time and NO information given by the hirer.

At all time comply with terms and conditions of this contract and insurance policy.

Fuels policy

All our vehicles are supplied with full tank fuel, and petrol/diesel at the starts of the hire, and should be returned full at the end of the hire.
